Cheap Kids

Reader John was traveling in West Virginia when he passed by a restaurant serving children. What an incredible price! In Illinois, they cost at *least* $11.

Unfortunately for him, it was a Sunday and the restaurant was closed. Life can be so cruel…

And really, WV kids definitely taste better with ramps.

I had to google ramps…never heard of them before.

    I’ll have mine plain, thanks.

As a native West Virginian, I’d be interested in how many of you know what ramps are? Only in West Virginia would you see an ad for ramps with no explanation.
I’ll save you the trouble of looking it up: Imagine a hybrid root vegetable resulting from crossing onions with garlic. Now imagine a bunch of drunken hillbillies showing off their manliness by eating one raw.
“Ramp festivals,” which pretty much follow that pattern, are fairly common in the Mountain State. No amount of oral hygiene can get the odor off your breath for a week.

Tater kid with a side of ramps sounds just about right for a Sunday evening.

    Do they mean ‘Tater Tot’?

Do they do a decent butt, or leg roast(non xian of course as they toxic and libel to kill me for my own good?not that anyone under 18 can responsibly be saddled with any label they’ve been indoctrinated with) What spices do they use? I’m mostly vegetarian and don’t know meat spices much. I’ll pass on the ramps, unless used sparingly as a spice with potatoes, carrots and onions :P

But then I think perhaps I’m being too much an unpaid food critic too do more than approve of kid fridders or whatever without tasting. Yum, roast, fried, baked, or grilled, those baby back ribs are finger lickin good :P Don’t abort pre-human embryos, raise unwanted kids till can make a good meal or two ;)

I’m very wary of any place selling kids for that cheap. I suspect they aren’t organically raised and whole grain fed. Those are probably the kind of kids raised on Wonder Bread and Kool Aid.

They just don’t taste the same and are harmful for the environment. Only buy organic kids, people.

When I was in college, that was a kick-ass pizza joint/bar. Now, its a family restaurant that is closed on Sundays. Luckily, they serve children by the platterful.
