Phil Plait’s Bad Universe

So this is the secret Phil Plait has been hiding from us this whole time…

That looks all sorts of awesome. Massive congrats to Phil on this — can you imagine a viewing block of this + Mythbusters? Nerdgasms will erupt everywhere.

    OMFSM, that looks awesome!!!

My 12 year old daughter perked up when she heard “big explosion.” I expect that will go on the DVR right next to the MythBusters!

Bad Ass. The only place I haven’t yet heard about this is from the Bad Astronomer, himself. (or from my grandparents, I guess)

I hope it is either right before or right after Mythbusters. It looks good. I hope it catches on.

    Phil the superhero:

That’s where I come in. I’m Phil Plait, I’m an astronomer on a mission: my job is to debunk all the junk science out there, and reveal the truth.

    Awesome :)

It’s times like this I wish the Discovery Channel would partake in Hulu or something like that. I’d like to see this, but I can’t justify the expense of getting cable for as few shows that I’d actually watch on it.

    Looks brilliant!

That looks fantastic, but I could never show my 8 year old. The kid is already scared of half the things in the world, I’m not adding meteors killing us all to his list, lol!

What secret? You could just look him up on IMDB all this time. I didn’t realize people were still in the dark.

Still, nice to see some teasers at last!

I’m looking forward to this: A debunking show with an actual scientist instead of special effects guys.

    Yes. I loathe MythBusters.

    @ Parse..
Use torrents. You can download the show the day after it airs.

    “Video removed by user…”
    Aww damn!

  16. avatar DSimon Says:

@ Pasre: If you’re willing to put up with the time delay, just wait til it comes out on DVD and then NetFlix it. That way you don’t have to be an evil pirate (*arrr*), but you still get to skip the commercials.

    (Argh, I mis-parsed “parse”)

[UPDATE: D'oh! There was a problem with the video, and Discovery is in the process of fixing it. It should be back up soon.]

Seems like a new version has been put up again, here’s the direct link:

Thanks, GentleGiant. I’ve updated the post with the new version.
