Wii: Prayer

I know this is fake. It has to be fake. But curse the creators for not providing us with a knowing wink, leaving me with some residual doubt.

The use of the word “unauthroized” in the fine print in the opening seconds of the video helps my case that Prayer Works Interactive isn’t a real company. (Spelling to the rescue!)

Maybe the company’s name is an anagram for something…

It’s viral marketing for EA’s Dante’s Inferno. Just like they had the fake Christian protesters at E3 this year.

Yeah if you click on the Order button it takes you to a video of the trailer for the game.

It’s also got a mention on Wikipedia.

It’s riffing on “Dreamworks Interactive” which are a real entity (the creative minds partly behind the Medal of Honor Series on Playstation, among others).

This would be so much better if it had been named “Mass: Wii Pray.”

  6. avatar MikeTheInfidel Says:

The sequel could be called “After Mass: Wee Prey” and it could be about the adventures of altar boys.

Yeah, that was an obvious one.

Funniest thing I’ve seen in ages.

And best of all it highlights the fact that many in their practise of religion just do the rituals without actually understanding what their religion is.

I knew it was a parody as soon as they said you don’t have to wait to Sunday to go to church; you can go every day. A company like this would be run by people who attend daily mass. Serious Catholics at least know that daily mass has existed for centuries.

Why did I want a disclaimer that “no children were harmed in the making of this movie”?

That was so bad it had to be fake.

  10. avatar David Says:

Is the film backwards? The kids are doing everything with their left hands (not that there couldn’t be two left handed kids, but..), and the sign of the cross… I don’t know, I never heard of doing it with your left hand, but if you did, would it be that way??

I think the makers didn’t know their Catholocism..
