What I want to know is where people get those bizarre ideas.
How can the Catholic church be a force for good in the world with a leader who was a Nazi collaborator and is the former head of the Inquisition?

How is there even a question that they are a force for good? They clearly are not!
Child abuse, contaception denial, a strong desire to return to the dark ages… and that’s just today, they were worse when they had real power!
Yes Gordon, from the outside of it the Catholic Church does appear as something other then good but those voting saying it is good have probably never looked from the outside of it. They only see what they want from the inside and brush the bad off as those aren’t true Catholics.
When the pope says condoms are bad including to the folks in Africa who have a very serious AIDS problem I have to say…shut down the catholic church. (bankruptcy with those pedophile lawsuits is how)
