How the U.S. Military is Convincing Muslims We’re On a Crusade

It’s not a surprise to those who follow the issue that the U.S. military has a history of trying to evangelize, convert, and proselytize to Muslims.

Chris Rodda has compiled an extensively-researched list of the “Top Ten Ways to Convince the Muslims We’re On a Crusade.”

Here are the main points (the details are on her posting):

10. Have top U.S. military officers, Defense Department officials, and politicians say we’re in a religious war

9. Have top U.S. military officers appear in a video showing just how Christian the Pentagon is

8. Plant crosses in Muslim lands and make sure they’re big enough to be visible from really far away

7. Paint crosses and Christian messages on military vehicles and drive them through Iraq

6. Make sure that our Christian soldiers and chaplains see the war as a way to fulfill the Great Commission

5. Post photos on the internet of U.S. soldiers with their rifles and Bibles

4. Invite virulently anti-Muslim speakers to lecture at our military colleges and service academies

3. Have a Christian TV network broadcast to the world that the military is helping missionaries convert Muslims

2. Make sure Bibles and evangelizing materials sent to Muslim lands have official U.S. military emblems on them

1. Send lots of Arabic, Dari, and Pashtu language Bibles to convert the Muslims

It’s a disturbing article that needs to be making the rounds.

All of that pisses me off and freaks me out at the same time. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

They (sorry, we) also attack symbols of Islam by destroying their holy book and temples and by humiliating Muslims who are taken prisoner.

I’m going to plug Chris Rodda’s book, Liars for Jesus, as an exceptional book to counter our “expert” David Barton on the TX SBOE.

Sounds like the U.S. government need a counter-propaganda campaign. Maybe they can get some loudspeakers in Afghanistan and broadcast the message “Don’t worry, we don’t care about your religion; we just want to destroy your crops” on a continuous loop.

(As an aside: 7/10 of the items on that list correctly avoid the words “our” and “we” when referring to the U.S. military, which is as rare as it is refreshing.)

“A Muslim is allowed to lie under any situation to make Islam, or for the benefit of Islam in the long run. A Muslm sworn to office can lay his hand on the Koran and say ‘I swear that I’m telling the truth and nothing but the truth,’ fully knowing that he is lying because the same Koran that he is swearing on justifies his lying in order to advance the cause of Islam.

Insert “Christian” for Muslim and “Bible” for Koran. That is basicaly what is going on as told by this story.

When military and religion combine it tends to get to the phrase “Convert or die!”.

It’s all about power and money. No one controls either of them like the US military. And no one wants it more than fanatical religions. Cant say I’m all that surprised, specially considering Bush has been doing no.10 since the start of this whole war.
