Kent Jones explained the “controversy” over the new movie Creation on The Rachel Maddow Show last night:

It’s always nice to see the horror of rational thought coming to light on national television :)

I love Rachel Maddow, I really do. If I watched TV, I’d probably watch her show.

I so want to see this movie. It is truly a shame that no U.S. distributor is willing to pick it up.

That was awesome. I love Rachel Maddow. I want to see Creation. It looks so good.

I simply can’t believe that a good old American company would miss the chance to make money regardless of the controversy it caused.

In fact it would be more believable if they said a company would not pick up a movie because it lack controversy.

It must be more than just that.
Maybe it suck’s, Maybe they want way to much money.

Aw, I was expecting that Tom Cruise/Jack Nicholson clip from A Few Good Men…

Still that was LOL funny…yes, the dangers of a 19th century British costume drama to American youth ;-D

I guess those of us in the U.S. reality based community will have to get this on DVD via Netflix or something…

Whenever I see something like this, my first thoughts are:

“hey, that was pretty brave of a national network to air something like that!”

    and then, within milliseconds:

“bravery my ass, the viewership for MSNBC must be lower than I thought”

Still, whatever their motive, let’s hear more of this kind of critique.

I’ve heard that the studios are now in a bidding war over the film. They were probably waiting for the controversy to build. But I still figure I’ll have to travel to see it as I live in the conservative mountains of Virginia.

“…and if you are challenging my right to say so you hate me. And are a NAZI! Or whatever.”

    That was awesome.

I, too, love Rachel, but, she’s just got to stop spewing common sense on her show. It wreaks havoc with most American minds.
I wish that my local cable carried MSNBC; not that many folks around here would watch it anyway. I guess I’ll just have to be happy watching her online.

Great scene, Reginald. I’ve never seen the movie. Maybe I’ll rent it.

  14. avatar Magnifico Says:

I don’t buy it. This is ploy to ultimately make more money.

It seems the basic problem here is the fact that American citizens are apparently for the most part the most ignorant people in the developed world. Surveys concerning perceptions pertaining to science and religion repeatedly demonstrate this fact. In the USA, the problem is worse in the South and in the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly here in the Washington DC metro area, where politicians use religion as a means of taking advantage of a gullible public. But, as they say, it is nearly impossible to knock a mark.
