Yay! Speaking as a resident of Nova Scotia, I am very pleased the Supreme Court made this ruling. We’ll soon have bus ads in Halifax, and hopefully, in all major Canadian cities soon.

For the record, most theists I know thought it was nonsense that MT refused to put the ads on the bus anyway; they said simply that they have nothing to fear from someone advertising their lack of beliefs. The ones who were pissed off were the ones worried their kids might be lured away from the flock or something similar.

Good. Lure away.

I’m not sure if this is as much of a problem in Canada as in the US, but as a take off of the popular pool sign:

“We don’t learn in your churches, so please don’t pray in our schools.”

Winding it up a bit:

Depictions of the massacre of the Cathars, the crusades and the Ku Klux Klan. With the text “Christian love in action”. Now that should get some attention.

@Ian: An insult is not an ad hominem. Please excuse me jumping on you, but I’ve seen this mistake too often recently. An ad hominem fallacy is an attempt to discredit an argument by attacking the character of the person making it: e.g: John Smith was convicted of shoplifting last year, therefore his opinions on evolution are false.

“You can’t be good with a god”
“Gods don’t kill people, people with gods kill people”

It’s not that hard. Oddly enough, all of those exist in some form about atheists, and are completely acceptable…
