Ariane Sherine is the brain behind the Atheist Bus Campaign, and her new book The Atheist’s Guide to Christmas is finally available for pre-order:
The book features (not coincidentally?) “42 atheist celebrities, comedians, scientists and writers” offering “funny and serious tips for enjoying the Christmas season.”
In case you need an incentive to order this one, all the money from the advance and royalties will go to the UK HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
The book is available on October 1st, about a week after Richard Dawkins‘ new book comes out.
Talk about an early Christmas…
I have some experience in this field. We celebrated x-mas every year since I was born, and not once has it ever been religious. We decorate a tree and put a star or angel on top and give gifts. All for the fun.
Christmas is an excellent time to get together and enjoy family. There’s no reason to spoil it with religion.
The most interesting name on that list is Charlie Brooker… he can be pretty savage (but highly entertaining) when he tears into something.
Alas, I went to the Amazon site through the link, and it only says the book is unavailable. I can sign up to be notified when the book is available. There is no means of pre-ordering the book that I can find.
Looks like the amazon.uk site allows preorder, but the US site only asks whether you want to be alerted when it’s available.
