Carrie Prejean Fired as Miss California

The anti-gay-marriage Miss California Carrie Prejean had her title revoked today. Looks like she couldn’t honor a commitment.

… K2 Productions, the independent producers of the Miss California USA pageant, under license from Miss Universe, cited continued breach of contract issues as the reason for Prejean’s firing.

“This was a decision based solely on contract violations,” Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the release. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”

Good riddance. Of course, the Christian Right and the National Organization for Marriage are going to cry foul and claim that Prejean was a victim of her beliefs. To them, if you’re as fundamentalist as they are, the rules don’t apply to you.

So, will she do porn now?

Nah. She’ll just piss and moan about how she’s being persecuted for her convictions. She’ll probably end up writing a book dumb enough to rival Jenny McCarthy’s autism rant.

Then Porn?… or at least B rate movies with nudity?

Sorry, TFA, but I’m having a hard time figuring out why you… why anybody… gives an airborne copulation about this “news” — politely so called. Aren’t there some local bowling results to comment on instead? Certainly be a more interesting discussion.

Too bad. I thought that her silicon fluid bags were doing so much to promote heterosexuality and Christianity. But hey, being a beauty queen, she’s on career track for governor and vice president, so who knows, 2016, perhaps? Before her looks fade too much?

Palin / Prejean 2016 “Don’t hate us because we’re beautiful.”

I first read “Helen Prejean” and had a WT-?! moment.

No, I don’t think that’s quite it. I think that their belief is a bit more like this:

Rules are for people I don’t like.

I say that because fundamentalists seem to have no problem with eating their own. They’ll gleefully kick another fundamentalist when they’re down, and love to jump all over anyone they perceive as breaking the rules in any way, because then they can be all holier-than-thou at them, and they know that mostly another fundamentalist will take it and flog themselves, or leave the church in which case those who denounced them can REALLY feel morally superior.

It’s just that they all seem to believe that they personally are exempt. And this exemption carries over to anyone they find it convenient to give it to.

It would have to be Palin / Prejean 2024
She won’t be old enough (for president) till then.

There is always the house. Perhaps she will run for California’s 8th district.

I’m not understanding why this is getting so much coverage on an atheist site. Sneering at this one woman as she stumbles her way to the bottom is petty and rather disgusting. It’s certainly not friendly.

I think it’s the way she promoted herself as being very principled and that’s how she justified her hair brained bigotry. This is an interesting footnote to the whole debacle. She is only principled when it is convenient to her.

They were talking about her on CNN and Prejean and her pastor were denying that she wasn’t fulfilling her duties and kept insisting they had a good relationship with the beauty pageant people and claimed she was being persecuted for her beliefs. What her pastor has to do with anything is a mystery beyond me.

And the rest of us. She must think bringing a pastor in is some sort of trump card. A man of god agrees with me, I must be right.

Unfortunately it is a man of the notoriously dishonest christian right. Oooooh fail.
