During the initial invasion of Iraq, Donald Rumsfeld’s office produced intelligence reports for President Bush and his team. These cover pages were remarkably pro-Christian with Bible verses adorning them.
GQ magazine got ahold of samples of these sheets. (If you have an AdBlocker, you’ll have to turn it off to see the page.) This is not a joke. These are real.
Is it any wonder Bush referred to his war as a “Crusade”?

Worst. TPS Reports. Ever.
It’s incredible they got away with this…
You can see the rest of the cover sheets at GQ.

The incredible debacle…both politically and economically…that the Iraq invasion (an illegal war, by constitutional standards)poroved to be, shows that these verses not only lacked any merit at all…but almost seems to mock the ferver with which they applied their ignorant religious views.
My thought on the matter is, didn’t everyone involved with printing these things break the law by doing so, and can they be held criminally and financially accountable for doing so? I mean, the cost of the printing of these things if applied to Rumsfeld as a fine, would be a slap on the wrist, but it would be a prominent and important slap on the wrist.
I don’t know what (if any) legal ramifications apply in such a bizarre situation (I mean, who would think to come up with a law that bans this sort of thing? The principle behind it is the issue), but this has to be extremely frightening and disheartening for the vast majority of Americans seeing it, atheists and theists alike. These paint our invasion as a religious war, with religious motivations and potential religious rewards and divine aid.
It’s jaw-droppingly scary.
Should these pictures prove to be real then the whole 8 years will be a nail in the coffin in the Bush administration, the party, and people responsible for putting them there.
11 September 2001 put a sour taste of religious ideology in the minds of Americans and the world that saw the ramifications of the event.
*** Could the “conspiracy theorists” have some valid information?
I’ll be really interested to see how the Christian community will react to this news, if these are indeed proven to be real. I wonder if they’ll be outraged, or if they’ll just react as if it is something they already knew.
I think its fake
someone perhaps took a real breifing book and pasted the christian stuff with a computer and then pretended it was legit.
I’m not convinced there is anything real here.
What bothers me most of the really horrible graphic design. It’s not even consistent. Whoever does the layouts needs to have their layout program taken away.
Should we be even more worried that the second intelligence briefing originated at
310530 EST on Mar 3 ?
Being bible-based barbarians is one thing, thinking there are thirty two hours in the day is quite another…

Although on second thoughts I find the poor graphic design quite offensive too.
Doh,
Okay so I worked it out. The world’s most bizarre date/time system.
DDHHMM EST Month YY
Could you design a more obscure format?
He called it a crusade in public at least once.
I was in the military during the early 1990’s. We received notices like that regarding the Russians quite often. It’s nothing new, they just point it towards a different foe.

No. They’re real:

It was too over the top for me to believe but after looking at some of the reporting going on related to it I think it’s legit. No wonder the Muslims think we are waging a holy war against them – apparently we are. Another Dr. Strangelove moment in the Bush administration. Once again proving that Military Intelligence is an oxymoron.
