You Are Wrong! You Are *So* Wrong!

This is just fun to watch.

(Though it’s fun anytime someone yells at Bill O’Reilly — repeatedly — for being wrong.)

Megyn Kelly defends the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s atheist plaque in Olympia, Washington:

And while atheism is not a religion, Kelly is right that it must be treated as such.

Good for her! And he’s wrong on more than one level. At least he didn’t kill her microphone.

She’s great and kudos to her for out-yelling O’Reilly. Just goes to show that that’s the best way to argue with the guy, because he repeats his ill-informed opinions like a broken record. Where did he pull that bs about it being wrong for the law to change in response to a given situation, given the change were backed by logical legal reasoning?

  3. avatar Travis Morgan Says:

    Whoa! She was awesome!

  4. avatar Caroline Says:

I’m glad they got someone who is able to fight back when talking to someone like that. Some people like O’Reilly just talk over you and don’t let you get your opinion out which makes you look stupid and him right. That drives me crazy when watching talks like this.

  5. avatar Vincent Says:

the only mistake she made was not saying he was “fractally wrong”

  6. avatar FrodoSaves Says:

Oh my Frodo, I think I’m in love!

  7. avatar Tony Boling Says:

It’s too bad I found the actual plaque to be inappropriate.

  8. avatar Clare Says:

    She’s fantastic! Good for her.

Wow. It always amazes me that Billo has his own “news” show. A quick google search tells me that his show gets 2.6 million viewers a month (and also that he claims 6).

Only part I really disagree with Megyn Kelly about is her proposed solution. Religious displays that aren’t viewpoint based? Any and all religious displays are by their very nature viewpoint based… What else is religion but a viewpoint? Who is the governor to say what is and isn’t a religion and what is and isn’t appropriate in a religious display? (On the other hand, this would probably leave the door open to Pastafarians around the world!)

The real solution is to keep ALL of this crap out of the government buildings. When news of this first broke I was hoping it would end this way, with the building flooded with differing displays of varying ridiculousness. Next year I’m guessing it won’t be a problem at all, and it really shouldn’t be.

The separation of church and state really is a good idea.

Oh my Math, what a beautiful and amazing woman.

    (She’s good looking too.)

  11. avatar Dan Says:

In addition to the absurdity of O’Reilly and the wonderful counters by Megyn Kelly, it seems that Bill-O didn’t know who he was talking to. He kept calling her “Kelly” instead of “Megyn.” It seems he can’t get ANY of his facts straight.

  12. avatar Nancy Says:

You can say one thing for Billo the Clown…He has never let facts get in the way of his arguments!

  13. avatar ATL-Apostate Says:

Dear Science! I think I’m in love with Megyn Kelly. Also, it’s hard to type with one hand. She’s quite the looker.

  14. avatar Shane Says:

The funny part is when Bill thinks he’s right because 88% of his audience agrees with him. His head is full of concrete.

  15. avatar Siamang Says:

Wrongness and smugness and an inability to listen or follow an argument of someone you disagree with often go hand in hand, don’t they?

Please make note of the poll:

Did the Governor of Washington make an error in judgment in allowing the atheist sign to be placed next to the Nativity scene?

Oh my Zeus, he is quite the looker! I think I’m in love! Who cares what he has to say, or whether he’s a blowhard or actually knows something about the law and can string logical thoughts together!

  18. avatar Butch Says:

I can understand how someone can be conservative and even be a Republican even if I don’t agree. I can understand how someone might agree with Bill’s conclusions even if I think they’re 100% wrong. But for the life of me I cannot understand how anyone can watch this clip and not come to the realization that even if you agree with his conclusions, his reasoning is just absurd. You have to be a very stupid person to watch that clip and think Bill did his cause any good at all.

  19. avatar martymankins Says:

Good for Megyn. She’s one of the few Fox News people that I have any respect for.

There’s times when I do even know if Bill even believes the crap he spews and if he’s just making it up. But then he does enough stupid things and says various viewpoints where I actually think he does believe his own vile.

  20. avatar Ross Says:

Bill is wrong on many many things here, except for one: once any and all displays are allowed, they should all be allowed, not on a first-come first-served basis.

Personally, I think everyone and everything ought to have been put up in the capital building. They would have crowded out the entire hallway. That would show the ridiculousness of catering to just a few viewpoints.

Question for Bill O’Reilly: And the fact that the majority of the voters voted for Obama means what?

Anyway, I can’t help but wonder how long before Megyn Kelly is kicked off FOX News.

  22. avatar hoverFrog Says:

Megyn Kelly really knows what she is talking about and is passionate about it too. a fantastic combination.

  23. avatar Maria Says:

I hate Bill OReilley. But………I’ve been hearing for 2 years how atheism is “not a religion”-so if it’s not how can it be treated like one?

  24. avatar Leanstrum Says:

Wow. She’s pretty sexy when she’s angry.
