Went to my sister’s gay wedding in Oklahoma last month. The world did not end.
It was in a church too.

The thing that pisses me off though is “force the boy scouts to appoint gay troopleaders”
I don’t want that. The Boy Scouts can discriminate all they want – just pay taxes if they do.

But seriously: What is the obsession with gay people? As some have pointed out on this blog, some of them think about gay people more than some gay people do.

Has anybody read “Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America” by Randall Balmer? Good book. He states that the reason the RR goes on about homosexuality is because by the late 1970s there were so many evangelicals and fundies getting divorced that they needed a new boogieman. But still, this is bizarre.

We all know the Atheist Agenda would include a ban on bananas and mandatory abortions for everyone.

Where would we get all the tasty babies from if there were mandatory abortions?

It’s so damn tricky being an atheist. Now I can’t tell whether abortions should be mandatory or optional.

Apparently, North Carolinian Republicans think that treating people fairly and respectfully is a “radical” idea. This election will not just be about the candidates, but a measure of the collective character of the majority of those living in NC: Tolerant and fair-minded citizens of the 21st century, or hateful, fearful throwbacks of the 10th century?

so ridiculous not all gays are atheists most aren’t. and not all atheists support gay rights.

But there are at least some gay atheists. And we’re tired of explaining to family and friends that we would go to church if only we could find a welcoming congregation. (At least that’s the case for the two gay atheists in this house.)
