Female Atheists: Don’t Attack Mark Wahlberg

He doesn’t like it.

The actor was promoting a movie on the show when a screaming fan ran towards Wahlberg and had to be pulled off him by security guards — and the star fears her intentions might not have been altogether good.

He explains, “The only thing that was a bit disturbing was she had a pin (badge) on that said ‘God is not real’ and that was upsetting to me. But I still pray for her to this day. Hopefully she’s changed her mind.”

I, on the other hand, am completely fine with screaming female atheist fans and their “intentions.”

Now someone please explain to me how Wahlberg’s strong faith is reconciled with starring in Boogie Nights and posing almost entirely nude on a billboard.

(Thanks to Pamela for the link!)

    Simple… He’s Catholic!

He can do whatever he wants so long as he later asks for forgiveness!

Who cares about anything but that body?

    Spank me, Catholic boy……

That’s pretty much how I feel about religious people.

Maybe she was the victim of one of his crime-sprees. Did anyone else see his racist, violent past on the Wiki link?

Why not criticize him for living in sin with his common law wife and bearing children out of wedlock while we’re at it. Oh, and let’s not forget the tattoos!

Four years later and he’s still rattled? The only disturbing thing was the pin? So he would have been thrilled to pieces to be mauled by a fan if she’d been wearing a “Jesus Loves me!” badge instead?

    Strange, strange man.

Because religious people can only be conservative about sex?

Cmon, Hemant. You’ve been very… petty lately. This isn’t becoming.

  8. avatar Pseudonym Says:

Yeah, I agree with Drew. Mark Wahlberg is living proof that it’s possible. How about explaining how startting in Boogie Nights is incompatible with a strong faith?

If all Catholics were as hot as Walberg, they wouldn’t bother me so much.

Have you guys seen Wahlberg’s reaction to Andy Samberg’s imitation of him on SNL a few weeks ago?

    Wahlberg responds to Samberg’s impersonation

Samberg nailed him I thought:) (his voice/speech patterns at least) They show a clip in the above interview (the sketch itself was rather flimsy, but it’s SNL)

Wahlberg has absolutely no sense of humour about himself. Always a bad sign.

Simple, he just follows the Capitalist Christian’s creed:

Do what Jesus would do (unless there’s money involved).

All right, I won’t. God, that was an easy thing to comply with since I’ve utterly no desire to. Sorry. I just don’t see it.

Because it’s his job and being good at your job brings glory to God? If only Christian pharmacists could follow this example when they have to fill birth control prescriptions.
