I Had To Do It

I was waiting for my flight home from Minnesota the other day… so I had to do it:

The infamous Larry Craig bathroom.

Somehow, the trip just felt complete after finding that.

Damn. I was in Minnesota a month or so ago and I completely forgot…

*sniff* I miss that being my home airport.

Good thing you don’t have a wide stance, or you would still be here in Minnesota.

Are you sure that’s the bathroom? Shouldn’t there be a plaque with his picture there or something?

I was through the airport a few times before Craig got arrested. I have always wondered if I might have taken a piss in the bathroom. I just don’t know. Who the hell pays attention to an airport bathroom in layover airport?

“… so I had to do it:” I am concerned about the answer but I gotta ask: Just what did you have to do? Are you talking about taking a photo (which, in many airports is illegal as it is a possible security risk) or some other activity, even ones taking place inside the bathroom?

You know what my first thought was? his footprints in cement in the stall, a-la Graumann’s Chinese Theater :) (with the appropriate distance between the footprints, accurately portraying his ‘wide stance’ :)

Ah, the infamous gay Republican restroom! I would have snapped a shot too. There really should be some sort of monument to Craig’s honor there.

This daily show clip seems somehow relevant and hilarious.

OK, so that is the entrance, but the question remains, Hemant…did you go inside????

I had to. Small stalls, actually. Very easy to have a “wide stance” because there’s no room there!

    Thankfully, I was not propositioned.

Oh, I misunderstood when you said “so I had to do it.” You mean all you did is go in the bathroom? How boring. . . :)

OK, i’m in Minneapolis right now, and leaving Monday… where exactly in the airport is it? can you direct me to the area? my friends want me to get a picture but i have no idea where the bathroom is…

By the food court, near the lottery kiosk/store!

Were the stalls really remodeled to reach the floor so no hanky panky could go on? (Though really, I’d think walls that went to the floor would encourage it as they provide more privacy, but then what do I know?)

  16. avatar J Myers Says:

“J Meyers“? Seriously… “Myers” is the much more common spelling, and atheists of all people should manage to get this one right.

I do like your “cement footprints” idea, though.

I consider myself a reasonably attractive guy, and I’ve never been propositioned in a restroom before. Maybe I’m doing something right – or wrong, depending on your point of view…
    :-)
