Yes, by opposing the further protection of polar bears and beluga whales she’s putting human interests so far above the environment that she makes Bush look like a hippie. But by allowing and rewarding hunters for chasing down wolf packs with planes until they’re literally too exhausted to run anymore and then shooting them point blank – all so the moose and caribou populations can rise for sportsmen – she truly convinced me that she’s a monster.

Apparently stopping a fertilized egg from attaching successfully to the uterine wall is a sacred duty, but it’s perfectly acceptable to torture non-threatening animals for a prolonged period and then collect money for killing them.

I don’t think that animals deserve the same rights as people, but they cannot protect themselves from us at this point, and I wish that people who obviously don’t care about their survival or welfare didn’t have a say in policy that affects them. The whole thing makes me feel ill.

Given the astoundingly improbable concatenation of circumstances that allowed Plain to even be considered a candidate for vice president, it’s surprising she hasn’t won the Powerball.

Seriously, all the inauspicious planets must have lined up at once and danced Swan Lake to allow a hickstremist like her a crack at the Oval Office.

Also: I thought I was the only one thinking about, what was the clever term Jay Naylor used? Ah, yes: marital aids. *grin*

But I digress!

Fantastic. I thought that was a real award until I got the second line on the plaque, at which point I realized it’s something like the Darwin awards, only far less humorous because, well, Sarah Palin is unfortunately still alive.

That dodo is pretty cute. Let’s hope the polar bear doesn’t go the way of the dodo thanks to the idiocy of these climate change deniers.
