Maybe he just doesn’t realize how idiotic he actually sounds…

True idiots don’t think they sound idiotic. Just take a look at our glorious leader. He thinks he’s smart and he thinks he’s actually running the show.

Robertson has a dedicated team of medical doctors and spin doctors on duty 24-7 waiting to do damage control whenever he (more and more often) says something idiotic. The medical doctors extract his foot from deep in his esophagus and the spin doctors either say “Well, this is what he really meant to say…” or more often, as Justin points out, attack the character of those who call attention to the choking preacher.

I think there is a pattern that, when you criticize a high-profile conservative, his/her supporters (or the targets of criticism themselves) will defend those people not by explaining how we are wrong but by attacking your motivation/honesty/integrity/moral consistency. It is really an “Attack the Messenger” mentality.

Hopefully, the American people are starting to get tired of this shtick.

I feel terribly sorry for the person in charge of watching and recording that show every day.
