Although in your own mind you have no doubt made it into a holy war, your own personal jihad, where you can suck up to your god and score brownie points the easy way, taking on those evil internet atheists who just won’t be properly submissive. It also no doubt gives you a warm glow to be insulted by us, so you can tell yourself you are suffering for your faith in some sort of meaningful way.

That’s so much easier than actually doing any good in the world. You have clearly chosen the most comfortable path to your heaven.

Firstly…to quote wiki, “Reddit is a social news website on which users can post links to content on the web.” Hermant uses it to post links to content on his page. I fail to see how that is spamming. Maybe there’s another link you could show us that actually shows him spamming?

Secondly, most of your comments are spewing hatred or stupidity. If you were attempting to shame anyone into changing their behavior, all you’ve done is show us that you are just as capable of having no tact. Just look at this thread, reread what you’ve written, and try to argue that you, somehow, have the ethical high ground.

It was unfortunate that your first post ended up on the wrong thread, that may have been why you got the reception you did. There is a lot of drive-by hit-and-run preaching that does end up here, and you may have been mistaken for one of those (or not, I can’t really speak to the other person’s reasons). But that’s clearly not what you are, so don’t let it discourage you from further posts.

That seems obvious to me. I think everybody here realizes that we’ve got the right to our own opinions, but we have been discussing the merits of those opinions. The Klan has the right to their own opinions too, but their opinions are flawed and hateful and there’s nothing wrong with my saying so.

I didn’t mention “hate speech” at all. The term “hate speech” is a legal term that relates to limits on free speech. That is a very different topic.

That is exactly what I am talking about. This entire site is dedicated to that type of hatred. This site exists so you can call people “stupid” and “blind” and say things like

If your god existed and was nice, he would be so ashamed of you. He doesn’t, so you should just be ashamed of yourself.

Of course nobody is questioning your constitutional right to say those types of things, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t mean-spirited.

However, that is her right to feel and believe as she chooses. She or anyone on here isn’t trying to *force* us to believe the way they do, they’re simply stating the way the feel. Just as when I answered questions earlier, I was simply stating how I feel and what I believe. Someone left, what I considered to be, a somewhat snide comment in response. That’s fine. It’s their opinion and they have that right. I may not agree with them, and they may not agree with me, but we’re in the US. We’ve got that right.

Speaking of hate, there are PLENTY of hate sites in the name of Christ, Allah, Mohammed– the list goes on. There is hate in every religion and/or lack there of. It’s not limited to the religion, just the ignorant who happen to belong to the religion.

It seems like Sam’s self-appointed job is to tell a Friendly Atheist that atheism is not friendly, while telling the rest of us here that, apparently, “being disgusted” at certain aspects of religion is the same as hating religion.

Oh, and to every so often make a belittling comment about women and then never, ever, own up to making said comments.
