Eric Zorn to Speak About the “New Atheists”

Eric Zorn, columnist for the Chicago Tribune, will be speaking about the “New Atheists” and Church-State Separation at the Northbrook Public Library (north of Chicago) in a couple weeks.

The event is sponsored by the North Shore Chicago Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The details:

Thursday, January 24
Northbrook Public Library
1201 Cedar Lane
Northbrook, IL 60062
7PM

The so-called “new atheists” have recently made strong, surprising appearances on the best-seller lists. Books such as ‘The God Delusion,” “The End of Faith” and “God is Not Great” have been selling well and sharpening the edges of the never-ending debate between believers and non-believers. Chicago Tribune columnist Eric Zorn discusses how this development might impact separation issues.

This meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

If it wasn’t so far away from me… and on a weekday night… I’d *so* be there.

Zorn is a great writer and someone who understands atheist issues. If you get a chance to go, I’m sure this would be worth your time.
