I heard about this on their last podcast. Now if I’m ever home during that time I can hear it on my comp while they are live instead of on podcast. That would be nice.

I don’t know if I understand your question. A freethinker is someone who thinks for themselves and doesn’t fall for superstition or dogma. Yes, this does include a lack of a theistic view. If the last is what you mean, then I’m not sure if I can answer your question without causing further irritation or what have you.

I think that is precisely what he means. We don’t believe in God, ergo, we must all believe the same things and share the same hive mind. Agreeing with people on one thing or some things must mean you agree with them on everything. Impeccable logic, no?

Freethought Radio is a good title. As Hemant has pointed out the term ‘atheist’ simply indicates non-belief in God. Unfortunately this definition has been complicated with add-ons of the paranoid and delusional variety, thanks to the overheated imaginations of Christians. When it comes to advertising, sometimes it’s wiser not to draw fire of the nutbar variety. That isn’t a cop out, just being smart.
I think what he meant was why, to be a free thinker, do you have to make fun of people who do not think like you do? Because when you make fun of Christian people (or any other religion) due to the actions of their fringe elements, it makes YOU look like the narrow minded bigot and shows that you do not really believe in free-thinking any more than they do. You are acting as if when someone free-thinks and comes to the conclusion that there is a Supreme Being or “God” or “Creator” of some sort, they are wrong. I guess I didn’t consider free-thinking or even atheism about being “right” or “wrong” outside of yourself and your own personal considerations. Is preaching atheism and “spreading the word” any different than believing in Jesus and “spreading the Word?”
Im a christian, but i’m not gonna be mean spirited. I support the first amendment and you guys have a right to have your program on the radio. In today’s free market society, i think this is going to go the way of the dinosaur just like the rest of Air America. It will prove a stronger point that left up to the people, conservatism will win out.
As for the term “free thinker”, i perceive it to be a snarky, poke in the eye term invented by liberals, used to describe those who don’t believe in God. I believe you can be a free thinker with or without God, but Christians look at the world through “Christ” colored glasses.
I was listening to a focus on the family iTunes podcast, and freethought radio was mentioned. It was from 3 days ago. Doctor Dobson talked about loss of american values, and blah blah blah. Anyway he mentioned how the left wing radio station, air america now has a show thats openly atheist. He also talked air america going bankrupt. Well that doesnt mean much, other then the fact that they probably benefit to much from tax exempt status. The episode was called “Standing for Stronger Values Part 3″.
