I'm Swedish an it's true that people in general here are not religious.
In fact, I can't think of a single person that I know that actually goes to church and those things, although a couple of my friends have the "I believe in something" approach.
I can probably not imagine what it's like to be given a hard time for just not believing in the fairy tales of a god, since these issues in general are not a public issue here in Sweden. Religion is a private matter here and most people don't give it that much thought. Hopefully the attitudes to atheists, ignostics and agnostics will improve over time in the US and other more religious countries. The movement that has started to show in the US lately is a good start.

Hey, hey, hey! There are plenty of sane and secular folk here in Denver. Not to mention the fact that Chipotle was conceived in this beautiful city.

You’re welcome.

Chipotle's from Denver?

I take back everything I said.

Mmmm.... tasty veggie burrito... *smacks lips*

And I hear Swedish people are all attractive.

Being from Denmark, and speaking purely from personal experience, I can honestly say, it ain't all that far from the truth. Swedish girls really are stunning.

Maria:

I like that in places like Sweden believers and non-believers are treated equally and judged by their character and who they are as people.

This is generally true, however, it is my impression that anyone who is more than light-religious in Scandinavia, are secretly thought a little lesser of. Either their religious belief is kind of taboo, or people will respond with "Oh wow... really? You are religious? Well... good for you... see you later.", or they will just stop and marvel at them; "So that's how one of you guys look like".

I always hated the "convert for marriage" thing. Usually, it seems to be more about the parents of the person getting married than said person. I remember when Charlotte on Sex and the City converted to marry her Jewish boyfriend. It seemed dumb to me that he had to marry someone Jewish- he promised his mom- but then I don't really understand why he would date a non-Jew. If you are that sure you have to marry someone of X-religion, why not only date people of those religion? If someone is great enough to date without being X, then why is that religion so important? 99 times out of 100 the other person doesn't really care about being the new religion, so why bother if they aren't passionate about that religion? And so on.
