ROTFL Richard!!! :-)

My fundie mother was a loving, caring person but rather on the prudish, unemotional WASPy side. Her favorite phrase, when I was going through the typical teen girl angst stuff, was "Karen, get yourself straightened out! Little did she know she could've have coined a great magazine title!

Looks like there'll soon be enough staff for a magazine for ex-gays. Maybe they could call it Straightened Out. Then when enough survivors of the bogus cure-you-of-your-gayness clinics amass we'll see a magazine for ex-ex-gays. Maybe it'll be called Gay Again. Is there a magazine for ex-Christians? Like Lost Weekly? That's sure to be followed by Lost and Found for ex-Christians who go back. What about a magazine called Reformed Rednecks for ex-anti-gay bigots who feel sorry for what they did but don't want to be thought of as gay? For people who start out gay, find God, turn straight, then turn gay again but still want to keep the God part there could be a magazine called Gays for God. What about straight atheists who find God but turn gay in the process? Their magazine might be called Formerly Faithless Fundie Fags. Agnostics who are bi-sexual would need a magazine called Maybe Men.

Like Andy Warholl's idea about everyone in the world eventually getting 15 minutes of fame, there may eventually be enough specialty magazines for every possible category in the world with no more than 15 subscribers each.

I once worked on a magazine that was printed on paper. And you don’t even want to know what that did to me.

LOL, that's great

We don’t have one. We welcome a diversity of opinions and encourage dialogue about it. Our only guideline is love - no matter what our opinions are we must treat both homosexuals and those whose opinions about it differ from ours with love.

It’s a crazy experiment but so far it’s working. We have conservatives in our church who definitely still think it’s a sin to be gay, but those same people were able to pray for and bless our church member who left to go on the Soulforce Equality Ride this past spring.

Wow Mike C, that's pretty good. I hope more churches do this...........

It's too bad that he felt so bad about himself (and I'm guessing it wasn't just because he was gay, but other lifestyle issues) that he felt the need to punish himself by aligning with the people that hate his lifestyle most. Think about it, most people in the gay community (depending on where they live) are probably familiar with gay friendly churches-yet this guy ends up with this damaging, hateful dogma. I feel sad for him.

Not Glatze, though. In one interview, he said he was “repulsed by the thoughts of sex with a man.”

What about thoughts of sex with a woman?
If he's just repulsed by sex in general, he's not straight.
Has he subscribed to Playboy yet?
(actually he's unlikely to for political reasons regardless as it has a very humanist/libertarian position).
