The Video Gets More Absurd With Each Passing Second

This started out with a bad premise (God doesn’t stop school shootings because God has been kicked out of school. Those damn atheists).

But then the video starts attacking everything from Dr. Spock telling us not to spank our children to teachers’ lack of “disciplining” students in a classroom. Apparently the author thinks a little violence is needed to prevent major violence.

I wonder why the comments were disabled on the video. Were too many people making good arguments as to why the points raised in the video make no sense?

The video is distributed by the American Family Association, which also produces hilarious articles like this one which says that a woman wearing revealing clothing will only attract men addicted to pornography.

Oy! This is infuriating. I’m going to have to rant about it on my own blog — thanks for the heads-up.

Of course, typical God, punish the children for the sins of the adults. But really, can you kick God out of school??? I thought he was everywhere and knows everything? I think he just doesn’t know how to let go of a grudge.

Wow. That was a pile of dumb. So smug too.

At first I really thought it was meant to be a joke that somehow went terribly wrong. But now… well, I guess people never seize to disappoint the optimist: First there are taliban shooting videos of a twelve-year old beheading an alleged traitor and then there are christian zealots using human tragedies as a marketing tool for their religious agenda.

That´s too much for today. I need a break.

I wish this was a parody, it would have brought laughs instead of frustration.

It is interesting that the “Day They Kicked God Out of School” video did not mention the Amish school in Central Pennsylvania where several girls were killed last year. God wasn’t kicked out of that school. Why would God abandon them?

I say the person is a kook. My mother raised me on Dr. Spock’s ideas and I didn’t turn out bad. I raised my sons the same way, they can be gentlemen when they want to be. This guy obviously does not know what he is talking about. Why do people blame Dr. Spock for everything concerning kids, when he didn’t do it? IMHO, they did not get the concepts of Dr. Spock.

    Mriana,
Waddaya mean you didn’t turn out bad. You’re a god hating, church burning, nun raping, baby eating, demon spawning and worst of all book reading atheist aint ya? So it’s gotta be all Spock’s fault. Post hoc ergo proctor hoc, right? They probably raised you on fluoridated water too. ;)

  10. avatar tinyfrog Says:

Right – they didn’t mention the Amish school shooting, and they definitely didn’t mention that the Amish School shooter was a home-schooled Christian.

  11. avatar Helen Says:

Dan can you elaborate on why you are praising Jesus for the video?

  12. avatar Richard Wade Says:

Oh Helen, please don’t ask him to start that again.

ROFL! Well, I haven’t eaten my own sons yet. Oh wait, those are the demons I spawned. lol Well, Spock was very logical and unemotional, so learning to hate was not an option due to the emotion involved… Oh wait, we’re still talking about DR. Spock, not Mr. Spock.

Sorry had to throw in a little Trek Humour too. :D

Sorry Richard, I didn’t know Dan had already elaborated on his views here.

Are they declaring that g*d is no longer omnipresent and omnipotent? S/he can only go where we grant permission?

I missed this doctrinal shift. It should have been announced with more fanfare. It explains so much, really.

  16. avatar Rebecca Says:

Haha, that should really be a parody.
