But I was watching local Chicago news. They were talking about a serial killer, Ralph Andrews, who may have killed dozens of women over the years (perhaps more people than John Wayne Gacy). The reason they were talking about him was because Andrews died in prison.
The reporter spoke to Betty Hanson, a woman who was attacked by Andrews, but managed to survive.
Speaking of the killer, she said:
“Have a nice trip to hell, because all your victims are waiting for you, and I couldn’t wait to see them attack him like a bunch of piranhas.”
Forget the grammar for a second. I still had a hard time figuring it out.
I think she just implied all his victims are in hell.
At first, I thought she misspoke and just meant to say the killer would be in hell and the victims in heaven. But then she said the victims would attack him like piranhas.
Maybe she means that the victims are in heaven attacking him in hell… or maybe she means once you enter hell, you *then* become a bad person, which defeats the purpose… or maybe everything in the afterlife is the same… or maybe… my head hurts.

I think she means that his victims would get to make a trip to hell so they could attack him. Didn’t c.s.lewis write a story about people in hell taking a day trip to heaven? I guess it works in the opposite direction as well.
I think this would be an emotionally charged outburst, one where you care more about letting people know your feelings than about making sense.
