Wow, I’m not sure what to say. I just saw him like 3 weeks ago. This is very very sad news. His speech was amazing and moving. He will be missed.
I was stationed in San Diego and went to Mt. Soledad many times. It’s a spectacular view of San Diego, La Jolla and some of the pacific ocean. The cross doesn’t need to be there. I went in 10/01 to Mt. Soledad and there was a old veteran selling spaces on a monument for other veterans. At the time I wasn’t vocal about my atheism like I am now so I didn’t say anything but I don’t understand why a religious symbol is on public property. Can I erect a large atheist memorial next to it? (you decide what that would be)
