That’s a book cover. Which means… there is a book coming out!
“I Sold My Soul on eBay” is currently slated for release April 17, 2007.
What is the book about? I detail my journey from Jainism to atheism and explain what I find as I visit churches across the country. These churches are in small towns and large cities. Some you’ve never heard of and others you see on TV every week. (Well, at least I watch them on TV…)
The questions that are answered include: What does an atheist find as he goes to the different types of churches? What can a church do to bring in people who are non-believers? What exactly is Jainism? And many more!
The book can be pre-ordered through the websites below:
There will be more information on this in the coming months, but I’m glad I can announce it here first.

Good for you! I’ll be keeping an eye out for it, as April creeps closer.
Hemant- You’re an inspiration!
I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Good luck with the book!
Hey!
I had no idea you were writing a book (I’ve been gone for a year in Europe, which puts you out of touch with pretty much all news) but I’m super happy for you! I’m definitely pre-ordering my copy.
Good luck!

Hi, Hemant,
I am from India.
I thought Jainism itself is atheistic like Buddhism.
What did you find in Jainism which needed rejection by an atheist like you?
Rational_Human– Thanks for the comment. You’re right that Jainism has no creator God. However, there is still a large amount of supernatural beliefs (reincarnation, becoming a deity, prayer) that I didn’t agree with, which is why I couldn’t call myself a Jain anymore. Hope that answers your question.

Yeah, I understand.
I suppose all religions have this flaw that all start with a good intent but the intent is soon forgotten and gets immersed under a pile of rubbish generated out of stagnation.
However, we atheists, should thank both Mahavira and Gauthama for their bold deviations from the god-based religion to an ethic-based religion almost 2500 years back.
And when I find people of today finding it so difficult to reject the god-based religions in order to adapt more Value Based Religion I really appreciate the work of Mahavira and Gauthama and also the people who accepted, understood and followed them in that ancient past in the oriental world.
I also doubt, there might have been a few like them in the western world too, but they might have been crucified without even leaving a trace…
[...] Church Revolution… I got 90% through it last time but got distracted by Hemant Mehta’s I Sold My Soul on Ebay. Anyway, Multi-Site is a great (and if Amazon is correct, the only) introduction to the movement, [...]
